NLCUP PROGRAMS
ABOUT THE PROGRAMS:
EJECUTIVOS IN THE MAKING: The Executive Ready Program is an 8-month learning experience designed for mid-level credit union professionals aspiring to move into upper management. Through virtual workshops, participants build essential leadership skills in strategic thinking, decision-making, and communication. Key components include hands-on executive shadowing, interactive leadership workshops, and mentorship sessions tailored to individual goals.
THREE-PART PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP: In this interactive workshop, participants will first learn how to craft a professional and impactful resume that reflects their skills, experiences, and potential. We’ll cover best practices for formatting, content selection, and tailoring resumes to specific job opportunities. By the end of this session, participants will walk away with a resume that stands out to employers and aligns with their career goals. The mock interview component is designed to help participants refine their interview skills by simulating real-world interview scenarios. Participants will receive constructive feedback on their performance, learn effective communication strategies, and build confidence in navigating job interviews. The workshop aims to prepare credit union professionals for various types of interviews by providing a safe space to practice and improve. The final component, Dress for Success, will explore the concept of professional attire, challenging the notion that there is a single standard for professionalism, and affirming the value of diverse expressions of professional identity.
MUJERES FORWARD: This program is designed to support the professional growth of women and non-binary people in the credit union industry by pairing them with experienced female or non-binary executives. The goal is to foster leadership development, provide career guidance, and strengthen their presence in leadership roles across the credit union space. In addition to one-on-one mentorship, mentees participate in a series of leadership development workshops that focus on critical skills, such as decision-making, communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking. At the conclusion of the program, participants will have successfully completed a capstone project in which they identified a critical challenge within their organization, developed a strategic solution, and presented their findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, demonstrating their leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
